ambrette seeds

what is it?

Created from the seeds of hibiscus, commonly known as the musk mallow, ambrette lends a musky scent often described as woody, warm, and comforting.

The enveloping scent is very faceted, with hints of velvety floralcy and a subtle sweetness complementing the cocooning quality. Enhanced with sublimolide, a vegan ambrettolide molecule, the strength and trail of this cocooning note is furthered, boosting the cozy-factor.

Ambrette absolute is obtained by hydro-distillation of the seeds and it is then followed by a solvent extraction. Once the seeds are distilled, a solid wax, rich in fatty acids called “ambrette butter” is obtained.

To give the distinctive character of saffron, the perfumer used a molecule called safranal. This highly fragrant molecule replicates the spice of saffron, weaving together facets of rich suede with delicate honeyed floral notes. Saffron’s fragrance is luxurious, warm, and intoxicating.
