Fragrance Display: How To Organize Your Fragrances

As our collections of fragrances and beauty products grow, it can become challenging to keep up with which bottle you put where. Between your car, closet, bathroom, and everywhere in between, it’s tricky to organize your products so that you always know exactly where they are when that next interview, date, or coffee run with friends comes up.

Thankfully, we know the best tips for how to organize your fragrances so that you can smell good and your scents can look good, too.

How Do You Organize Your Favorite Scents?

Let’s set the record straight: You can organize your fragrances however you want.

Maybe you’re a throw-them-in-the-junk-drawer kind of person. Maybe you tuck a signature fragrance into all your favorite travel bags so that you have a scent with you wherever you go.

Whatever the case may be, as long as it works for you, that’s all that matters. But if you want to bring your collection to the next level and have it act as an aesthetic addition to your space, we’re here with some fun ways to display your fragrances.

Mood

One of our favorite ways to organize scents is by mood. If you have a few fragrances that are your go-to for a cozy night in, keep those together so that you know exactly where to go when you’re in the mood to decompress.

For example, you might keep your Way With Woods and Sweet Ash on the same shelf so that you don’t have to search through your drawer when you want something cozy to help you relax and unwind.

But what about those nights when you really want to make a strong first impression? You can keep your more daring, bold scents together for when you’re wanting to turn heads. Scents like Ex on the Beach and Burning Bridges can live near each other so that you know where to look when you’re ready to draw some attention.

If you do decide to sort your scents by mood, remember that although we might describe some of our scents as more subtle or bold, you’re the only one who knows what mood each unique scent conjures up for you. If you love to wear a tropical scent in the middle of winter to remind you of warmer days, then make sure Strawberry Moon is front and center in December (we won’t judge).

Look

Another fun, aesthetically-pleasing way to sort your fragrances is by appearance. Some Snif scents come in distinct bottles. You’ll find Suganami in a sleek, matte black bottle and Strawberry Moon in a bottle with retro pink cursive lettering.

It can be especially pleasing to the eye if you sort your fragrances by look. Whether you’re sorting in color order or grouping together antique versus modern designs, this approach is a fun way to organize fragrances on open shelves that are visible in your space.

Occasion

If you’re looking for the easiest way to sort your fragrances, you can organize them by occasion. Maybe you have a few scents that you only wear to work, and some that just scream date night

Regardless of what scents you wear to different events, sorting them by occasion can make your fragrance selection simpler when you’re on the way out the door.

What Are the Best Ways To Display Fragrances?

Now that you know a bit more about how to organize your fragrances, you might be wondering how you should display them once you have your scents organized into groups. Let’s take a closer look at four of our favorite ways to display fragrances at home.

Hanging Shelves

One of the best ways to display fragrances is with hanging shelves. Hanging shelves consist of a shelf, usually made of wood, that hangs from the wall by a thick, triangular string or is drilled into the wall and appears to “float.” You can purchase pre-made hanging shelves or easily DIY your own if you’re looking for a fun weekend project.

This is an easy but attractive display option for your fragrances if you’re short on space in your home. You can easily mount a hanging shelf in your bedroom or above your towel rack to make use of wall space that would otherwise only fit a poster or some framed photos, or you can opt for a series of slightly smaller shelves and place each group of scents on its own shelf.

Wall-Mounted Display Cases

If you really want your fragrances to be the stars of the show, you can display them in a wall-mounted display case. These cases are available for every home aesthetic, from farmhouse to art deco, so shop around to find one that works with the vibe of your home.

Fragrances are a perfect fit for wall-mounted display cases because they are beautifully packaged but won’t make the space look cluttered.

Tiered Shelves

Another way to display your fragrances while taking up minimal space is to place them on tiered shelves. Much like the hanging shelves, you can dedicate each tier to a different group of scents to make your life easier when you need to find your signature fragrance for the day.

Existing Surfaces

The easiest way to store your fragrances is to turn existing surfaces into display counters. Maybe there’s nothing on the top of your dresser, or you have a completely empty counter in your office. If so, why not turn that space into a luxurious fragrance display?

We normally associate fragrances with the bedroom and bathroom, but that doesn’t mean you can’t branch out and store your fragrances on any surface in your home that could use an upgrade.

How Should You Store Fragrances?

Now that you know how to organize and display your favorite scents, it’s important to also store them properly. This section will tell you everything you need to know to get the most out of your favorite fragrances.

Keep Them Upright

Always store your fragrance upright. When you store your fragrances upside down, you risk changing the pressure in the bottle, which can cause your scent to leak. Keeping them upright eliminates any risk of leaking.

Choose a Cool, Dry Place

You also want to make sure to store your fragrances in a cool, dry place in order to get the most use out of each bottle. Heat can cause the natural fragrance oils to break down, making them less effective over time.

You should also avoid storing your fragrances in the bathroom — yes, even if they’re in a drawer. The humidity from each shower or bath can make your signature scent break down faster.

Find Your Scent With Snif

Now that you know all about how to organize, display, and preserve your favorite fragrances, it’s time to shop. You can find all your signature scents at Snif and scented candles to match!
